We have changed the structure of The League of Innovators and now all functions are occurring under adventur.es.
The League of Innovators has been a philanthropic arm of the parent company, adventur.es, with the purpose of promoting and sparking innovation and entrepreneurship in the Columbia community. We have decided to simplify and instead of working under two different brands, the previous functions of The League of Innovators will now occur within adventur.es. The vision of adventur.es is the same vision as The League of Innovators (because the same people are behind it). We care about solving problems, starting companies, and having people be passionate about the work they are doing. So, what will change? Not a lot. adventur.es will host events and continue to care about building a strong entrepreneurial community in Columbia.
The first question that comes to mind for many will be, "What about Startup Weekend?!". Startup Weekend has been our favorite component of The League of Innovators, and we assume the same is true for you. We see a value of continuing an event like Startup Weekend and are putting together a task force to plan the weekend as a community this year. If you are interested in being involved in the planning, please let us know! We would love to have you on board. Startup Weekend 2013 is tentatively scheduled for September 13-15th, so go ahead and block out the whole weekend on your calendar!
Beyond that, adventur.es will be hosting events that focus on fostering entrepreneurship and solving problems - things that we as adventur.es care about and we feel you value as well. We will spread the word of events through the newsletter and social media.
Not much. Keep coming to events at Museao and around the community. Keep building awesome things and supporting each other. Essentially, keep being you. We look forward to participating with you.
